Important Business Update: Pivoting for a More Ethical Approach

📣 Important Business Update: Pivoting for a More Ethical Approach 🌱

Dear valued supporters and partners,

Today, I am excited to share a significant decision regarding the business model of @FavourableGroup. We have decided to pivot our approach to better align with our core values and address ethical concerns related to the gamification of serious causes, especially those concerning health and the environment.

Previously, we offered fundraisers with enticing 20% prize pools, aiming to motivate users to engage in various activities to raise funds for their chosen causes. While this approach garnered attention and support, we have been reflecting on its implications and have made the decision to make some important changes.

Starting today, we will no longer be offering fundraisers with 20% prize pools. Instead, we are streamlining our processes to ensure that we prioritize the ethical dimension of our mission. Here’s why we are making this shift:

  1. Ethical Considerations: We have listened to the concerns raised by our community and partners about the ethical implications of gamifying serious issues. There’s a growing consensus that linking fundraising efforts to competition and winning prizes might inadvertently trivialize important causes related to health, the environment, and more. We want to take these concerns seriously and ensure that our platform promotes a more responsible approach to fundraising.
  2. Streamlined Focus: By removing the 20% prize pools, we can concentrate our efforts on the core mission of supporting charitable causes. This pivot allows us to put our resources and energy into more effective ways of raising funds and creating positive change in the world.
  3. Exclusive Management of 100% Tournaments: To maintain the integrity of our platform, we are also announcing that tournaments with 100% prize pools will now be exclusively managed by Favourable Group. This ensures that users fundraising on our platform will no longer promote “winning” as a primary motivator or directly encourage backers to participate in activities they may not want to associate with.

We believe that these changes are vital steps towards a more ethical, responsible, and impactful approach to fundraising. Our commitment to supporting important causes remains unwavering, and we are excited to explore new avenues that align better with our mission and values.

We want to express our gratitude to our incredible community, partners, and supporters who have been with us on this journey. Your feedback and engagement have been invaluable, and we look forward to continuing to work together to make the world a better place.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Warm regards,

William Styles
